Title Tag Checker: Diagnose Template and Relevance Problems
Check your title and meta description
Use the free Meta Checker to inspect the page HTML and find tags to improve. No account needed.
Check your title and meta descriptionA title check should establish what the page actually delivers, whether it matches the page's purpose and whether templates create misleading duplication. Character counts are useful editing signals, not a guarantee of how Google will display the result.
Inspect the title and its context
Check the final URL's title element, main heading and visible body. Look for empty titles, repeated brand-only titles, old campaign names or unresolved placeholders. Compare initial HTML and rendered output when JavaScript is responsible for metadata. A title that sounds relevant but belongs to a different template is still a defect.
Review duplication with an inventory
Group titles across the relevant section. For each repeated group, ask whether the pages answer the same task or simply inherit a generic title. Distinct products need accurate distinctions. Near-identical pages may need consolidation rather than new keyword variations. A single-page checker cannot prove site-wide uniqueness.
Worked example: an archive title on an article
Imagine that an article titled in the body “Fix a robots.txt crawl block” delivers only “Blog | Example” in its title element. Fix the article template so it reads the article's title field. Verify a second article to ensure the correction applies across the template. Then confirm that archive pages still have their appropriate titles. The example explains a verification routine, not a promised ranking change.
Write a truthful replacement
Lead with the page's subject or user task, add a useful distinction, and include the brand where it helps. Avoid fabricated years, statistics or superlatives. Read the title alongside the description and opening answer: all three should make compatible promises.
After deployment, recheck the live page and allow for recrawling. Google can build title links from multiple signals and may use a different wording. Do not repeatedly rewrite a useful title merely because the displayed result differs for one query.

One public response on 30 October 2026. The title pixel width is an estimate, not a Google display measurement. No missing on-page issues in this result does not prove indexing, rankings, event delivery or complete site health. Re-running later can return different content.
The observed title is 54 characters while the description is 148 characters. These counts describe this response, not a required length for every page. Use the result to check whether the text accurately describes the page; Google may select a different title or snippet.
